Meet Dr. Ajay Narayanan
Dr. Ajay Narayanan is a comprehensive otolaryngologist with a clinical interest in the full spectrum of ear, nose, and throat disorders. He is among a select group of surgeons experienced in both endoscopic ear surgery—a precise, less invasive alternative to traditional open techniques—and hypoglossal nerve stimulator implantation, a cutting-edge surgical solution for obstructive sleep apnea.
Dr. Narayanan was raised in Temple, Texas, and discovered his passion for medicine during his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin, where he studied biology and economics. He went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society for academic excellence.
He remained at UT Southwestern to complete a five-year residency in Otolaryngology, training at one of the nation’s premier programs under internationally recognized leaders in ear and sinus surgery. His surgical training emphasized using safe yet advanced techniques to manage complex ENT conditions. During his residency, he served as the sole resident board member of the Texas Association of Otolaryngology, demonstrating his commitment to leadership and advocacy within the specialty.
Dr. Narayanan is dedicated to providing thoughtful, patient-centered care to both adults and children. His guiding philosophy is to treat every patient like a member of his own family, ensuring compassionate and individualized care in all aspects of his practice.
Outside of clinical practice, he enjoys playing jazz piano, having performed at multiple national venues including Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City. He also enjoys running, playing pickleball, and traveling with his wife, Ahana.
